Operations Manager.

A typical day for me at Bateman involves…
I don’t think there is a typical day at Bateman. Every day is dynamic, things can change very quickly, challenges sometimes arrive that you can’t have foreseen.

The most enjoyable aspect of my current role is…
The role requires me to be on my metal all day, every day. There’s always something happening, it could be system developments, customer requirements or production and stores challenges. It’s never boring, that’s for sure.

I would say life at Bateman is…
Very rewarding. It’s always great to see the machines roll off the production line and onto the lorry at the end of the day. It’s also great to receive positive feedback from customers. I always finish off the week knowing it’s been a good week and I look forward to Monday.

Before I joined Bateman I was…
I served in the Royal Air Force for 24 years.

If I have time to myself I enjoy…
Surfing, I love playing golf, I really enjoy photography and walking my dogs along the coastal path.

The best advice I have ever been given is…
‘Always check, never assume.’
